Sophie Obadia was sworn in on March 7, 1994. A former Conference Secretary, she co-founded the law firm Obadia & Stasi.
This is the story of a lawyer who finds herself defending a young man accused of raping a young woman. He shouts his innocence, she's sure she recognizes him. On the face of it, everything points to him and yet ... In this episode, Sophie Obadia tells us about the rape case that changed her life as a lawyer.
"There's a distance you have to find. You have to be at one with your client, i.e. accept what he says, which may not be the truth, or even the whole truth (...), and then find your place as a lawyer so that you have the right distance from the judge. Knowing how to advise the client means having this permanent feedback from the link with the judge, which enables you to say to your client, "here, we won't believe you". "
